Grampa George

When I was a month old, I got to meet my Grampa George (my Mommy's Dad). He stayed over night with us and so I got to spend a lot of time with him.

My First Walk

Being born in the winter was no fun! My Dr. said I shouldn't leave the house at all for the first 6-8 weeks because it was a pretty rampant flu season and if I got sick, I would automatically be admitted into the hospital and would have to have a spinal tap done. Scary stuff! I was able to go for walks when the weather was decent, which if you know anything about Cleveland in January through March is not often. My Great Aunt Chrissy got us this stroller that we're riding in.

Just "hanging" out

It's hard being the 2nd child. I desperately wanted to be held my first few months, but because my sister is much older and more active than me, I spent a lot of my early days in what is called a Baby Bjorn. It was the best of both worlds for my Mommy. She got to hold me and have me close by while still getting to play with my sister. I got lots of snuggle time with her this way, too. I still hang out in this carrier sometimes during shopping trips or while my Mommy is cooking dinner just so she has me near her.

More Sleeping

In my early days, I loved to sleep on my Mommy and Daddy. Although, it was very difficult to sleep for any amount of time because Haleigh would always wake me up so eventually I had to tough it out and sleep in my crib during the day. I still prefer to sleep in Mommy or Daddy's arms to this day and I know they wish that I could do it more often!

My First Smile

My Mommy was able to capture one of my very first smiles in this picture! Sure, people say that this early, the smiles are just due to gas. If you know me though, you would have no doubt I smiled for the first time the day before I turned 3 weeks old. I am the most smiley little guy!

My Favorite Person

I absolutely ADORE my big sister! Anywhere Haleigh goes, my eyes follow. When she walks into a room, I light up and kick my legs with excitement. My love for her started super early. Here I was just 3 weeks old and you can already see the love in my eyes for her. You can also really tell we're related in this picture!

Another photoshoot

What is it with parent's and wanting to take pictures all the time?? This photo shoot was done with my sister, Haleigh. She had some cow patterned jammies and my Mommy got me a cow-patterned outfit to match her. The pictures just didn't come out the way she had hoped. Oh well -at least me and Haleigh matched!
This one would have been decent had we cooperated and looked at the camera:
I had enough at this point and Haleigh was trying to console me:
The better one out of the bunch:

Happy Valentine's Day!

My first holiday was Valentine's Day. It was a great day. My Grandma came for a visit and I got to meet my Great Aunt Doris for the first time, too. I was only 15 days old.

Baby Rolls

Look at these rolls! I had so much extra skin when I was a new baby. It has all filled in now though!

My first photo shoot

My Mommy spent an entire morning trying to take pictures of me when I turned two weeks old. My sister spent the day with our Grandma and Grandpa while I spent the day with Mommy alone. Of course, I slept through most of the shoot, but she got some good pictures. Some were even used on my birth announcement.

Ouch! I got bit!

By a stork that is... I was born with a nice-sized "stork bite" on my neck and if you look close, you may notice a small splotch of one on my forehead. I was also born with two mongolian spot birthmarks, one on my bottom and one on my ankle. I even have a mole on my left wrist. All of these spots will fade to barely-there over the next year. The one on my neck was so dark and big at birth!

Baby Blanket

My Mimi crocheted this baby blanket for me. I spent a lot of time under this blanket as a new baby. Here I am at 12 days old.

Sleep, Sleep and More Sleep

Ahh... the life as a newborn. I guess all the growing we do as newborns takes it toll on us! When I left the hospital, I was 8lbs. 13oz. and at one week I was already back up to 9lbs. 2oz.!

My First Bath

I can't say I necessarily enjoyed my first bath. In fact, it was what I would call torture. I'm happy to report that I love baths now though!

Day Two...

My second day of life, I busted out of the joint (aka: the hospital). I was able to go home for the very first time outside of my Mommy's tummy. I remembered hearing all of the sounds around me over the past few months - my big sister Haleigh talking, our dog Buster barking. I couldn't wait to see it for my own eyes. I also had my very first car ride in my car seat.
Look how little I was (even though I was actually pretty big!):
